Lighting Your Hand

Aim: To listen to the teaches Instructions while using safe Practise Science labs.

Hypothesis: There Will be  flames coming from your hands.

Equipment:

1.Bunsen Burner tube:

2.Gas

3.Detergent

4.Water


Method:
1.Put some water into a container and squirt in some Detergent.
2.Connect the gas hose to the taps and make gas bubbles in the water.
3.Rub cold water on your hands. Wrist and up to your elbow
4.Scoop up the in container  into the palm of your cupped hand.
5.Stand with your reaching out in front of you,with your palms and bubbles facing up.
6.light your hands.
7.DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME

Safety: If you want to stop the fire you can open your palms and drop the fire to the floor.

Results: The hands of the person burst into flames without burning their hands.

Discussion: The gas in the bubbles burned.

Conclusion The safety glasses are need.As Mr Palmer lit the bubble it burst up into flames and then it got a bit stinky

Quail Island Trip

My Favorited part about Quail Island was coming back on the Ferry.

The ferry we took had outside decks and if you were one of the people to make on the front deck you would get wet, same with the back deck.One thing that was annoying me the most is that after the boat had left from the island everyone was trying to get to the front of the boat so they could get wet, but it was just fulled nonstop. The people that were on the front deck first had too start going inside so other people could go on and get a little wet.One thing I hated the most was when student would stand up right in front of me then fall on me as if I wasn't even sitting in that spot. Every few minutes we would get wet and scream and laugh our lungs of, After getting wet most students were freezing due to the cold wind blowing on them.As we got to the wharf we realise that the other boat was here,and the bus we went on did have all our class student's init. Before we knew, we had to get on the bus and take a Long trip back to school.

Science

In Science 7/8wh have deciding if pet cats should be kept inside during night or be allowed to roam around at night.
Should we keep cats indoors? Humans VS Cats?  
Why should cat be kept inside?
I think cats should go out during the day and be keep inside at night due to getting ran over and more.

What evidence do I have?

Orana WildLife Park

For EOTC week at Hornby high year 7/8 went on a trip to Orana  Park here is same of my Write about the trip

Our school trip to Orana Park was an Adventure

The Morning started like no other when all student file/walked into school.                 When the Year 7&8 were done with form time we all squished onto the path outside of school waiting for the busses to come. While waiting Mrs Gibson was just yelling at us to squish even more on the the sidewalk for the year 7. Once we saw the first bus all teachers were yelling out there class names to get onto the bus. When those 2 classes got onto the bus we still had to wait for 4 more busses to come. After the first bus left my class and 8Rc got onto the 2nd bus. It was a long and Uneven bus ride to Orana Wild Life Park,Everyone on the bus was loud and annoying.

On the bus Some students were playing cards,on there phones or doing nothing. Eventually we arrived at Orana and all Students from 8Rc and 7/8Wh had to go and line up in their groups. I was In 1W(1 West) and our Teacher was Whaea Jo and our Zoo Keeper name was Elizabeth. The Very first thing we done was eat something outside of the Cafe then we went on our Adventure.Our Adventure Started of by Watching the white Rhino's walk out the gate,It took same time for them to come out Because there was a puddle in the ground and the White ──·Rhinos don’t like water that mush as Elizabeth said and we got to hold the horn.The Second thing we look at was the cheetahs.When we got to the Cheetah Enclosure they were just walking up and down because they heard a truck drive and they know there is food on the truck. After seeing the cheetah 1 west walk to the Gorillas and Gibbon then we had more lunch and headed to the east side,To be continued...
