Today in the workshop we used a new tool known as sandpaper, they sandpaper was both white and yellow, the color's described the roughness of both sandpapers. I work on getting the indents off my stone.I grooved a line to help the koru get a sharp shape

For our group stone carving project we have looked up ideas and have found one that we all like.
it is two koru with a maori stair case engrave into it. To us it means a new life and we have two fern that could represent a mother and her baby a new beginning and new life growth, strength and peace

Thanks for sharing your design to your blog. I like how you listed the tools we have been trying out.

Which one is your favourite to use? I think that hammering the chisel with the mallet is tricky, so I think that the cheese grater is my favourite one to use.
